Sea Holly has been moored at South Shore Marine in Chester for the past week while we have been home (on land) in Tidnish. We are heading back tomorrow, can't wait to get back on the water. We are thrilled that Marco and Sylvie will be joining us for our trip south. We hope to leave from Shelburne about September 19 en route to Boston. It will be our first "offshore" trip and we are pretty excited and lucky to have Marco and Sylvie with us. Not sure how Abby will adapt to a walk around the deck instead of being shuttled to shore for her constitutionals. Posted by Picasa

Abby and I made it to the top first!! Posted by Picasa

Another pretty cove in Prospect Bay, not far from where we anchored. Posted by Picasa

This is Ray's picture of Prospect - he's a much better photographer than me. What a pretty spot! Posted by Picasa

Prospect from the water. We stayed in a beautiful cove called Rogues Roost. We have done lots more gunkholing with Sea Holly than we ever did with the power boat. Ray has a few more grey hairs (now he's starting to catch up with me) but it's so much fun to be able to anchor away from civilization. Posted by Picasa

The lighthouse at Chebucto Head - still can't get used to the rocks on this side of NS Posted by Picasa

Another view of Halifax Harbour. It was actually fog free when we arrived and left. Posted by Picasa

Halifax Harbour from our mooring in Shearwater. Halifax is very beautiful from the water. We visited McNab's Island by dinghy and explored the old forts, even met a man who had been born and brought up on McNabs. Posted by Picasa

We're moored at Shearwater Yacht Club, just us and the commorants!! Actually it's a very nice yacht club and everyone is so helpful!, not to mention it's the best deal in town (first 2 nights free!!) Posted by Picasa

The lighthouse on Devil's Island coming into Halifax Harbour. 15 hours from Liscomb to Halifax and I WASN'T EVEN A LITTLE BIT SICK!!! the oil must work!!! Posted by Picasa

Just around the bend in the Liscomb river from where we were docked. Liscomb Lodge was marvelous and the marina manager, Chester, was the greatest. If you get a chance, Liscomb is a definite stop over. Posted by Picasa

Sea Holly docked at Liscomb Lodge. We splurged for dock space with "real" electricity and all the good stuff. Ray was trying to humor me after the last crossing. I am sure he wonders why I keep doing this - must love it I guess (not the sick part). Met an interesting couple cruising here from Florida and Rich gave me some "magic" anti motion oil that you are supposed to just rub beind your ears and presto - no more motion sickness. Can't wait to try it - smells awful but who cares at this point. Posted by Picasa

We stopped at Liscomb Lodge on the Liscomb River after a miserable passage between Port Howe and Liscomb. Winds were forecast 10 to 15 knots and ended up at 33!! Seas forecast for less than 1 meter were more like 2 to 3. I got sick; Abby was fine and Ray ended up doing most of the work (ok, all the work).  Posted by Picasa

Jim, is this really mars next to the moon????? Posted by Picasa

Entrance to Andrew Passage. Posted by Picasa

After being used to the Northumberland Strait and all our mud; these rocks are a little too close for comfort!! Posted by Picasa

This was a sobering sight in Little Dover Run. Ray was not impressed with my gunkholing.  Posted by Picasa

Travelling through Andrew Passage en route from Canso to Port Howe. Posted by Picasa

We are actually starting our trip "south" tomorrow (weather permitting of course) heading out of the Bras d'Or Lakes to Canso; Port Howe; Liscomb; Shelter Cove; Owl's Head; Dartmouth .... and will update again there. Posted by Picasa

I think Aaron enjoyed his dinner; life doesn't get much better!! Posted by Picasa

Dinner after a great afternoon anchored in Cape George.  Posted by Picasa

Aaron's reminded of his navy days!! but he liked Sea Holly anyway. Posted by Picasa

Sara's back for a second visit!! I think she's hooked. Swimming in Cape George Harbour. Posted by Picasa
